Falesco Vitiano Bianco 2015

Lemon yellow in the glass and full of sunshine and cheer, Falesco's Vitiano Bianco 2015 is a classic Umbrian blend 50% Verdicchio and 50% Vermentino. It's an unobtrusive wine, light with subtle herbaceous and mineral overtones interweaving lemon drop and Asian pear. A nice combination of soft texture and acidity lends versatility. Falesco Tellus Merlot 2013

Four stars (or ~8.9) because Falesco's Tellus Merlot 2013 is a great value, velvety and sumptuous, it retails for less than $15 in the US. From vineyards in Montecchio, in the heart of Umbria, the Merlot sourced for Tellus is grown in clay and calcareous soils. It's an open-hearted wine, and softly focused with lush layers of black cherries and plums, leather, and earth. On the finish, dried sage emerges, it achieves nice complexity, given its price. 13.0% ABV | Sample Falesco 8.9 Points...
