Tinto Pesquera Ribera del Duero Crianza 2012

Tinto Pesquera Ribera del Duero Crianza 2012

Older vintages of Pesquera can be particularly lovely, as such this toothsome 2012 Crianza is drinking well now, but will certainly reward patience. Brimming over with lots of complexity and lots to love given its price, with dark fruit notes of roasted black cherries, singed earth, dried violets, black licorice, alfalfa hay and dark chocolate. Fleshy and round on entry, with fine, powdery tannins that sit firmly at the back palate. Dark chocolate, dark roast espresso and herbal notes reemerge at the finish. Tinto Pesquera 9.0 Points...

Bodega Numanthia Toro Termanthia 2009

Bodega Numanthia Toro Termanthia 2009

The Numanthia Toro Termanthia 2009, generously shared by fellow Vivino user and friend, Rick Halprin offers up a lavish bouquet of steeped blackberries, black cherry, anise, and aged leather. Painted with a broader brush as compared with little brother, Numanthia, it's voluptuous and expansive on the palate, with velvety fine grained tannins and a commanding personality. Mouth coating, juicy black fruit leads into spicier notes, along with a touch of heat on the finish. Tons of power and concentration in this well-crafted Toro. Bodega Numanthia 9.1 Points...

Bodega Numanthia Toro Numanthia 2009

Bodega Numanthia Toro Numanthia 2009

A wine that fellow Vivino user, Rick Halprin generously shared, the 2009 Numanthia is inlaid with fabulous, complex notes of black cherry, Italian plum, bittersweet chocolate, maple, heliotrope, and dusty, sun-baked earth. On the palate, the tannins are structured and slightly grippy, and the alcohol is well integrated—given that it’s at 15%, Numanthia carries it well, showing a great deal of finesse despite innate power. Medium plus finish, accented with cigar box and dried herbs. Bodega Numanthia 9.2 Points...
