Kabaj Sivi Pinot 2012

Blog

For orange wine enthusiasts, the 2012 Kabaj Sivi Pinot, technically a Pinot Grigio, is this intriguing Slovenian example. Extended skin contact followed by full malolactic fermentation and aging in French oak barrique have endowed this wine with it’s orange hue. The aromatics are subtle and layered—a fusion of cling peaches, decaying rose petals, and coriander. On the palate, oxidative notes are married to nervy acidity and pleasant, slightly bitter flavors of pear seeds, dried pink grapefruit peal and saline-rich minerality. 12.5% ABV | Sample
