August 11th marked my first trip “back east,” for me that was technically any place east of western Montana. And while my entire reason for being there, in balmy Upstate New York was to attend the 2015 Wine Bloggers Conference, the artist in me thought it worthwhile to pay tribute to the Museum.
Conference attendees streamed into the Museum on Saturday evening for the highly anticipated Wine Blog Awards Presentation and dinner. We were treated to a Hot Glass Show before dinner. Admittedly, I had envisioned endless, prosaic displays of Corningware. Instead, I was pleasantly surprised by the clean, spare architecture of the building itself, which rivals that of any major metropolitan museum. I later returned on Sunday afternoon with compatriot and fellow wine writer, Alison Smith Marriott to further explore the galleries and historic collections.
