Kirschenmann is a new vineyard site in Turley’s stable of single vineyard designate Zinfandels. Planted in 1915, the vines are seated in well-drained, silica-rich sandy soil. The 2013 is young, granted, but the potential is evident. Vibrant notes of raspberry compote, roasted black cherries, lilacs and incense float above more savory layers of roasted meat and cracked black pepper.
